Giant pumpkin Ambar
A variety of a subshrub growth form. The fruit of an average weight of 2 to 4kg and high dry matter content. The skin is hard, dark green with grey spots. The flesh is vividly orange, with 15–18% dry matter content and 10–12mg of beta-carotene per 100g of fresh mass. This means a three times higher content of that mass, and six times higher content of beta-carotene, when compared to other varieties cultivated in Poland. The seed cavity is small, without an empty central space, so the fruit is less susceptible to damage, does not crack during harvesting, and keep better during storage. The fruit does not accumulate heavy metals and nitrates, so these plants can be cultivated near roads.
