Verte de Cambrai

The common cornsalad comes from southern Europe and Asia Minor. It grows well in the Polish climate. Due to its short growing period it can be sown or planted as a summer secondary crop. In mild winters, it is not destroyed by frost and gives a spring yield. The leaf rosettes are eaten fresh. When harvested in periods of shortage of fresh vegetables, they supply a wealth of group B and A vitamins.
